What is IV Nutrient Infusion Therapy?

Intravenous, or IV Nutrient Therapy is a method of feeding vitamins, minerals and other natural substances directly into a person’s bloodstream. Bypassing the digestive system is the main advantage of IV nutrition. When substances are given orally, they must be processed through the stomach and intestines. Many substances may be rendered inactive in the digestive tract, or may not be well absorbed due to poor intestinal functions. By directly administering nutrients to the body via the Intravenous route, higher than normal blood levels can be achieved. These increased levels can provide an immediate therapeutic response by correcting deficiencies.

Scientific research has demonstrated that a variety of conditions can benefit from the use of IV nutrition. A few of the conditions that may be helped using these techniques are:

  • Fibromyalgia
  • Adrenal Fatigue
  • Chronic Fatigue
  • Insomnia
  • Common Cold
  • Leaky Gut Syndrome
  • Depression
  • Anxiety
  • Symptoms of Menopause
  • Colds and Flus
  • While some benefits include:
  • Improved Skin quality
  • Improved hydrations
  • Increased Energy
  • Regulations of the immune system
  • Shortened recovery times for athletes

Who can benefit from IV Therapy?

Eveyone! Today, most people are under chronic stress, lacking in sleep and proper nutrition. Many feel run down, tired and could be in pain. Some are not performing at the Gym or in other sports activities as they had been or would like. Nutritional IV therapy is a great way to address any deficiencies one may in vitamins or minerals to reach optimal nutrient levels and hydration.

All of the intravenous protocols offered by a provider should have been thoroughly researched and have been shown to be effective in the treatment of certain conditions, and prescribed especially for each individual.

What is in it?

Some of the main ingredients that could be prescribed are:

Vitamin C:
Vitamin C or L – ascorbate is an essential nutrient that is required for a wide range of metabolic reactions in all animals and plants. It is made internally by almost all organisms, with humans being the most well known exception. For this reason, most use a supplement similar to lypospheric vitamin c to get their recommended amount of Vitamin C or rely on a Vitamin C rich diet.

Glutathione:
Glutathione is a small molecule made up of three amino acids, which exists in almost every cell of the body. It is required to maintain the normal function of the immune system. It plays a critical role as an Anti Oxidant / Anti-Aging component.

Magnesium chloride:
One of the most important minerals in your body, as it’s used by nearly every cell and organ, especially your heart, muscles and kidneys. A study published in the Journal of Diabetes, Obesity and Metabolism confirms magnesium chloride’s positive effects on insulin sensitivity.

B Vitamins:
Water Soluble, There are eight well known B-vitamins that play a role in the body. They support metabolism and contribute to the body’s ability to produce energy. They also have individual functions as well.

Amino Acids:
Amino acids are organic compounds that combine to form proteins. Amino acids and proteins are the building blocks of life. They are vital in promoting wound repair and encouraging healthy tissue in muscles, bones, skin and hair.

IV Nutrient therapy is a way to get vitamins, amino acids, minerals and other nutrients into the bloodstream quickly without needing the digestive system. Using an IV to administer nutrients allows the maximum concentration to reach tissues for absorption that need it the most. All treatments should be specifically evaluated, and a protocol developed for each individual and prescribed by a Medical Doctor.
