Data supports Bio–Identical Hormone Replacement Therapy (BHRT) with Pellet Implants as an effective method to deliver hormones in both Men and Women. Implants, placed under the skin, consistently release small, physiologic doses of hormones.

Pellet Implants have consistently shown to improve:

  • Cardiovascular Health
  • Sex Drive and Libido
  • Hot Flashes / Symptoms of Menopause
  • Mood and Depression
  • Joint Aches and Pains
  • Headaches and Migraines
  • Insomnia

Pellet insertion is a relatively simple in – office procedure done under local anesthesia. The pellets are inserted subcutaneously ( under the fatty lining of the skin), either in the lower abdomen or the upper buttocks.

Fused pellets typically last between 3-5 months, depending on how rapidly the hormones are metabolized. After the insertion of the pellets, vigorous physical activity should be avoided for 2-3 days. The pellets do not need to be removed; they are completely dissolved by the body.

Hormone levels will be tested and evaluated before therapy is started. Levels will be reevaluated periodically during hormone therapy. Men must notify their primary care physician and obtain a digital rectal exam yearly. Women will continue their monthly self – breast exam and obtain a mammogram and pap smear yearly as per the office protocol.
